Mathias Falcenberg joined V-Bio Ventures as Venture Partner in February 2025. His experience spans the healthcare industry from an entrepreneur, investor, and corporate perspective. At Merck KGaA, he and his team foster external innovation for new modalities and technologies like PROTACs (Amphista, Proxygen), AIDD (Exscientia, Benevolent AI, Caris) as well as NBE and ADC approaches (Mersana, Biolojics) by driving the search, evaluation, due diligence and workplan execution. Before joining Merck, Mathias worked at Forbion where he gained substantial insights into venture capital methods and processes across the sectors of therapeutics, diagnostics, and MedTech. Mathias is a trained biologist from the TU-Darmstadt and earned his PhD in the lab of Prof. Dr. Axel Ullrich at the Max-Planck-Institute where he co-founded and scientifically headed an early drug discovery biotech start-up.
