About

Jan Henric Buettner's career has been focused on new technologies. As early as 1988, he was involved in Axel Springer’s efforts to acquire the D2 mobile communications license. In 1994, he became Managing Director of AOL Germany, which resulted in the sale of Bertelsmann’s shares to the American AOL parent company for approximately $10 billion. As one of the German venture capital pioneers, he founded his first VC fund, BV Capital, in 1997, which later changed its name to e.ventures (today Headline), with offices in San Francisco, Hamburg, Berlin, Tokyo, São Paulo, and Beijing. Subsequently, Jan Henric Buettner bought the Weissenhaus estate at the Baltic Sea, completely restored it for almost €100 million and converted it into a luxury resort.
