Renaat Berckmoes is a co-founding managing partner and CEO of Fortino Capital, a B2B software & tech venture capital and growth investment firm with offices in Antwerp, Amsterdam, and Munich. He co-founded Fortino Capital in 2013 with Duco Sickinghe. Berckmoes has been the CEO of Fortino Capital since 2023. In March 2024, he became Chairman of Private Capital Belgium, where he has been a board member since 2021. Before co-founding Fortino Capital, Renaat Berckmoes was Group Treasurer and CFO of Telenet for 12.5 years. He started his career in 1993 as a Trade & International Finance expert at KBC Bank, servicing its Top 100 Corporate clients, and then joined Solutia Inc (currently Eastman Chemicals) in 1998 as Treasurer EMEA. Renaat holds Master's Degrees in Political Science (KUL – 1988), Business Economics (UA -1990) and Maritime Economics (UA 1993). Berckmoes is passionate about turning structural opportunities in B2B software into lasting businesses and translating complex models into disciplined plans that deliver both growth and resilience. His goal as Managing Partner is to continue building a fund and team rooted in trust, insight, and intentional strategy.
