Marcel van der Heijden is a Partner at Fortino Capital, co-leading its Venture II fund and Dutch operations since May 2021. Fortino Capital is a private equity and venture capital firm based in Antwerp, Belgium, founded in 2013. They focus on B2B SaaS investments. Before joining Fortino Capital, Marcel was the first non-founding partner at Speedinvest, a leading early-stage venture capital firm in Europe. He spent six years in their San Francisco office, supporting portfolio companies with US expansion, and then built Speedinvest’s enterprise tech investment team with members in London and Berlin, while based out of Vienna. Prior to his venture capital career, Marcel founded mobile start-ups during his Ph.D. and spent 15 years in enterprise software, including seven years at Microsoft in their cloud business.
