About
Joël Van Dijk is the Dutch member of Begin Capital. He has a special interest in deeptech software, AI Infrastructure and AI enabled roll-up strategies, but is also open to ideas disrupting traditional markets or breaking open new markets with novel business models. Joel co-founded Elfi, a disruptive company within the Dutch real estate market, providing him with first-hand experience of the growing pains of scaling up. He also has experience as an investor from his time at Slingshot Ventures, a Dutch Seed – Series A VC fund. Prior to that, he gained finance experience from his Investment Banking roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Deutsche Bank. He enjoys getting into the details of excel sheets and takes a practical approach to analysis, but his favorite part of VC is building relationships with founders.
